Forbidden City not so forbidden

Today our tour group went several places. We toured Hutong which is the oldest community in Beijing. We learned how silk was made. We saw Tianemin Square and ended our day with the Forbidden City.

The Forbidden City was built in the fourteenth century and has over 9000 rooms. It was built by the emperor to house him, the royal family and the court. When the dynasties fell the city was pillaged and all the treasures were taken to Taiwan where they are now on display. What remains are the impressive structures reminding visitors of its former glory.
